INVERSION PUBLICITARIA EN COSTA RICA
Hay un factor detonante negativo para la inversión publicitaria de la que Costa Rica no pudo escapar durante el 2009, la sonada “crisis económica”. Todos los que trabajamos en esta área pudimos sentir el malestar general de menos inversión en medios, menos pauta. Los anunciantes se retraían y los anuncios se escapaban de nuestras manos. Aquellos que tuvieron el potencial para ver la oportunidad en los tiempos de crisis encontraron que al haber menos inversión publicitaria en el ámbito acostumbrado, era un buen momento para hacer recordación de marca sin la cantidad exagerada de bulla habitual que genera la publicidad en el marco general del país. Este es un buen punto en un momento de adversidad salen las mejores cosas, sino que lo diga la industria de comida rápida se puede ver como con esta crisis ellos innovaron su forma de vender incluyendo en sus menús o oferta los productos de VALOR estos son los famosos combos y productos a bajo precio o en promoción Ejemplos: Pequeños Precios Mc Donald´s o Justo a tu Gusto de KFC. Estas son nuevas formas de inversión que levantaron las ventas de dichos comercios en la época difícil de la crisis y junto a ellas una estrategia de comunicación muy interesante.
Además de que la crisis permitió ver que en algunos casos la inversión publicitaria no era realmente inversión sino despilfarro, al abstenerse de hacer ciertos gastos la empresa se da cuenta que tal ves no eran realmente necesarios o funcionales para la marca en el caso de los anunciantes.
Este fue el caso del ICE que del 2009 al 2010 dio un salto de ¢2.782 millones a ¢3.617 millones en inversión publicitaria. El caso particular de esta empresa que ha quintuplicado su inversión publicitaria en los últimos cuatro años justifica el crecimiento del presupuesto en la intención de promocionar y posicionar sus marcas, así como en la necesidad de tener una presencia fuerte antes de que se produzca la apertura del mercado de las telecomunicaciones.
Según expertos en el área durante el 2010 la inversión publicitaria tiene sus ojos puestos en dos grandes temáticas que predominarán este año. El mundial de fútbol y los procesos de apertura de las empresas de telecomunicaciones y seguros. (Un punto interesante el que se menciona en cómo la inversión sube en tiempos de actividades especiales como las mencionadas, que incluso hay que resaltar de que hay ciertas marcas que ese medio año les sirve para mantenerse hasta la siguiente actividad, otro ejemplo claro aparte de los dos mencionados es el de las Elecciones nacionales donde hay uno de los mayores despliegue en publicidad)
En el caso del mundial según datos de Alemania 2006 “la publicidad con temas de fútbol o del Mundial de Alemania generó, de enero a mayo, una inversión de más de ¢2.300 millones.” (La Nación). Empresas como el Banco Nacional y la Coca Cola fueron las mas fuertes en inversión durante esta época en un rango de aproximadamente 200 y 170 millones de colones. Aunque ciertamente Sudáfrica a diferencia de Alemania no cuenta con la participación de la Selección esto no es un tema que desvele a los publicistas, ya que siempre habrá empresas que saquen sus ganancias a partir de este evento como es el caso de Gollo en el sector detallista, que destinará el dinero que corresponde a anuncios según sean las ventas e intentará continuar con promociones.
Por otro lado el mercado publicitario de telecomunicaciones y seguros tendrá un crecimiento lento y habrá que esperar a finales del 2010 y principios del 2011, debido a que muchos de estas empresas todavía están a la espera de los servicios correspondientes para iniciar su incursión también publicitaria en el país.

Wow, its been almost a year since the last time I wrote something in my blog. A long time ago I was a young girl with dreams and hopes of having the best blog ever… (not!) No, but really I did wanted to have a blog visited by many over the world…so a year later I am now officialy starting to write again. If you care to read my post’s you must know that my blog is about nothing special, just the feelings of a 24 year old (girl…) young woman struggling in this world to be happy. You might fine something interesting you may like (like my never ending cause to save this planet from global warming) or you may find stupid comments about my life, my work and my feelings. Like I said in the introduction, this is my personal diary for the world to see. So once again if you like what you are reading please let me know, that way I will belive there are people like me out there…

A little more like him…
I wish I could be a little more like Al Gore former US Vicepresident. That’s usually what I think whenever I have the opportunity to see one of his amazing explanations about Global Warming. This time during primetime american television, OH WONDERFUL OPRAH… He first introduced me to this horrible problem last year when “An Inconvenient Truth” (if you haven’t seen it, it’s a must. It can actually change your life and the way you think about it) came out in theaters in my country. I remember no one was interested in going with me so I ended up going by myself. (which in the end I don’t regret at all). I was so scared about finally realizing what is GLOBAL WARMING (please take note that I write GLOBAL WARMING in capital letters, may be to get you really interest in the topic or really scare so you will end up looking for more information about it. If this were to actually happen and my intentions get someone else to get involve or at least inform about the importance and danger of this, then my mission will be accomplish) that I felt seek to my stomach. How can we the most intelligent specie that ever stood up on this WONDEFUL planet could be so stupid and ignore what’s happening? So we can hear about it everywhere GLOBAL WARMING is out there and it’s ready to KILL. But there are people fighting, there are people out there who are trying really hard to make a difference because even Scientifics say that is not too late, our generation have the power to preserve our own specie, have the power to make a change and have the power to make it right. So you may feel that you are insignificant in this big planet full people and is up to the rest to save the world or you may think like most people I know (which is really frustrating) that it’s not going to happen to you, probably it will happen to your grandchildren in like a 1000 years from now, but sure you are safe… you have nothing to worry because you might die soon! The thing is people, THAT IT”S HAPPENING NOW, WE ARE NOT SAFE ANYMORE. The climate is changing, people are becoming climate refugees, there is no more water, even in my country (Costa Rica) which is in Central America a little up from the equator, there were SNOW a few days ago in one of the highest mountains, it wasn’t much but it was snow in a TROPICAL COUNTRY with only 2 seasons a year, rainy season and hot season. So I believe there must be something wrong … So if you feel GLOBAL WARMING is a problem that could possible change the way you live I urge you to take action, you can even grow a tree in your backyard, don’t ever think that what you do doesn’t matter because it does!! IT REALLY DOES!
